how to factory reset a hp stream notebook

To factory reset an HP Stream notebook, follow these steps:
1. Back up your data: A factory reset will erase all personal data, apps, and settings. Make sure to back up your important files to an external drive, cloud storage, or another backup method.
2. Power off your HP Stream: Shut down your notebook completely.
3. Enter Recovery Mode:
– Press and hold the Esc key on your keyboard.
– While holding the Esc key, press the Power button to turn on your laptop.
– Release the Esc key when the HP logo appears. This will open the Startup Menu.
4. Access System Recovery:
– On the Startup Menu, press the F11 key to open the System Recovery options.
– If F11 doesn’t work, you may also try pressing F8 or consult your specific model’s manual for the right key.
5. Choose “Reset this PC”:
– In the Choose an Option screen, select Troubleshoot.
– Then choose Reset this PC.
6. Select Reset Option:
– You will be given two options: Keep my files or Remove everything.
– Keep my files: This will remove apps and settings but keep your personal files (e.g., documents, pictures).
– Remove everything: This option will erase all data and reset the system to its original factory settings.
– Choose Remove everything if you want a full reset.
7. Confirm and Start the Reset:
– Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and start the reset process. Your laptop will restart and begin resetting.
– The process may take some time (usually 30 minutes to an hour).
8. Set up your HP Stream: After the reset is complete, your notebook will restart, and you’ll be prompted to set up Windows again, just like when you first received the device.
Once the setup is complete, you’ll have a fresh, factory reset HP Stream notebook.
