How to Prepare Mutter Paneer: A Delicious and Easy Indian Dish

Mutter paneer is a popular Indian dish that combines the creaminess of paneer with the earthiness of green peas. It is a flavorful and nutritious meal that can be enjoyed as a side dish or as a main course. If you’re looking to prepare this delicious dish at home, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to prepare mutter paneer.

Ingredients:

– 200 grams of paneer, cubed
– 1 cup of green peas (fresh or frozen)
– 1 large onion, finely chopped
– 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
– 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
– 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
– 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
– 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
– 1/2 teaspoon of amchur powder (dry mango powder)
– 2 tablespoons of oil
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

1.

Start by heating the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

2.

Next, add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

3.

Now, add the minced garlic, ginger, and green chili (if using) and cook for another minute.

4.

Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

5.

Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, amchur powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.

6.

Add the green peas and paneer cubes to the pan. Stir to combine and cook for about 5 minutes.

7.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Let the mutter paneer simmer for another 10-15 minutes, or until the paneer is fully cooked and the peas are tender.

8.

Finally, add the garam masala and fresh coriander leaves. Mix well and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.

Enjoy your homemade mutter paneer with your favorite Indian bread or rice. This dish is not only delicious but also easy to prepare, making it a perfect choice for busy weeknights or when you want to impress your guests with a homemade Indian meal.
