Effortless Guide- Embedding YouTube Videos into PowerPoint Presentations

How to Put a Video on PPT from YouTube

In today’s digital age, presentations are an essential tool for communication in both professional and academic settings. Adding engaging videos to your PowerPoint presentations can greatly enhance their impact and keep your audience captivated. YouTube, being the largest video-sharing platform, offers a vast library of videos that can be integrated into your PowerPoint slides. This article will guide you through the process of embedding a YouTube video into your PowerPoint presentation.

Step 1: Open YouTube and Find the Video

The first step is to find the YouTube video you want to include in your presentation. Simply visit YouTube.com and search for the video using the search bar. Once you find the video, click on it to open the video page.

Step 2: Copy the Video URL

After opening the video page, you will need to copy the video’s URL. To do this, right-click on the address bar at the top of your web browser and select “Copy” (or press “Ctrl+C” on Windows or “Cmd+C” on Mac).

Step 3: Open PowerPoint and Create a New Slide

Now, open your PowerPoint presentation and create a new slide where you want to insert the video. You can do this by clicking on the “New Slide” button in the “Home” tab or by pressing “Ctrl+M” on your keyboard.

Step 4: Insert the Video

To insert the YouTube video into your PowerPoint slide, click on the “Insert” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen. Then, click on the “Video” button and select “Online Video” from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Paste the Video URL

In the “Insert Video” dialog box, you will see a field labeled “Video URL.” Paste the YouTube video URL you copied in Step 2 into this field. After pasting the URL, click on the “Insert” button.

Step 6: Customize the Video

Once the video is inserted, you can customize its appearance and size by clicking on the video and using the formatting options that appear. You can resize the video by clicking and dragging the corners of the video frame. You can also adjust the video’s position on the slide by clicking and dragging it to the desired location.

Step 7: Save Your Presentation

After embedding the YouTube video in your PowerPoint presentation, make sure to save your work. Click on the “File” tab in the ribbon, then select “Save As” and choose a location to save your presentation.

Now you have successfully added a YouTube video to your PowerPoint presentation. Your audience will appreciate the added engagement and visual appeal that the video brings to your presentation. Happy presenting!
